Chinar Premier League (CPL) 2025 Kicks Off with Spectacular Opening Ceremony in Baramulla.

Baramulla, June 21: In a historic celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and youth empowerment, the Chinar Premier League (CPL) 2025 was officially inaugurated today at Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 19 Infantry Division Baramulla, DIG of Jammu & Kashmir Police (North Kashmir Range), DIG BSF, DIG CRPF, and other dignitaries and officers from the District Administration Baramulla.

Now in its 11th edition, the CPL is an initiative of the Indian Army and features 64 teams from across the Kashmir Valley. The tournament aims to channel youth energy through sports, while promoting camaraderie, discipline, and community spirit.

The opening match saw BCC Reds take on Karnah Tigers, a team that represents one of India’s northernmost villages — a powerful testament to the grassroots outreach of the league.

Speaking after the match, Zubair Dar, captain of BCC Reds, expressed his gratitude to the Indian Army, stating, “We can proudly say this is Kashmir’s own IPL. It’s a golden opportunity for local talent.”

To elevate the viewer experience, multiple high-definition cameras have been installed across both venues. Live streaming of all matches began today on various social media platforms, enabling cricket enthusiasts from across the Valley and beyond to watch the tournament in real time.

A large crowd of enthusiastic locals gathered to witness the opening ceremony and the first match, showcasing the immense support and engagement the CPL enjoys within the community.

Matches will be held at both Bipin Rawat Stadium and Showkat Ali (College Ground) Stadium, Khawjabagh, Baramulla.

The Chinar Premier League 2025 stands as a symbol of peace, pride, and positivity—providing a vibrant platform for youth to shine, inspire, and unite through the spirit of cricket.
