Baramulla:Aarifeen School of Excellence, Delina Baramulla celebrated the end of the academic year with the annual Closing Ceremony to acknowledge and applaud the achievements of the teaching and non-teaching staff that excelled in academic, non-academic activities and brought laurels to the school in the year 2020.

On this occasion, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Qureshi, Former Director General, Economics and Statistics, planning and development, J&K was the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Director of North and South Campuses of Kashmir University, Professor Mohammad Ismail, former Principal of Government Degree College Baramulla, Profesor Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, Head of Department of Physics Government Degree College Baramulla, Altaf Ahmad Sofi, and Firdous Ahmad- the founding members of Idarah Fallah-u-Darien were also present on this occasion.

After her heart-warming opening speech in the first half, Coordinator ASE Ms. Sandra Mak congratulated the teaching and non-teaching staff members for their outstanding performance despite covid-19 lockdown putting the whole world to a standstill.

While congratulating the staff Ms. Sandra Mak said that the academic year 2020 took a sad turn in the middle of March when the whole world had to shut down and some serious restrictions were put in place with the concept of social distancing.

“Schools, colleges were closed due to the pandemic. The work at the Aarifeen School of Excellence had to move onto online platforms as well. Even though it was a challenging time but the commitment, the creativity, and the devotion of teaching and non-teaching staffers helped us through the difficulties, all of our students were able to continue their studies.

Right from the beginning our educators and students accepted the challenge and opted for digital education. We at ASE started our online class right from March 27th, 2020 using Google classroom, Google meets, and other modes of communication. As the world stopped for a bit, but we kept going on to give hope and join people together,” she said.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Guest Ghulam Ahmad Qureshi deliberated upon the need for scientific and value-based education.

“Read a lot; write a lot, learn as many as languages as it will expand your vision. As an educator, we have to work with sincerity and dedication. We have to be an able and capable educator so that we can do justice with our profession and with the students,” Mr. Qureshi added.

The speakers deliberated upon the ASE educators and other staffers that the more dedicated a person is the more progressive a society shall be.
In his speech, Professor Mohammad Ismail said that we must not focus on what others are doing instead we must use our own resources and mind to excel.

“Devote your resources towards the good of society. You have a chance to fine-tune one of the finest blessings of Allah and that is the child. Mould these children in a better way, in a cool and considerate way and contribute towards society.

I was here to suggest you a few things but I felt happy to be here, actually, I learnt much more from you,” Professor Ismail said.

Professor Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Director of North and South Campus of Kashmir University while lauding the efforts of the school management board, educators and non-teaching staff said that for a child’s overall development, three things are important- a creative, able educator, up-to-date curriculum and a school with state of the art infrastructure.

“I am happy to find all those requirements at Aarifeen School of Excellence, that are necessary for a child to flourish in a better way,” he added.

On this occasion, two of the Arabic department educators Mr Showket Ahmad Teli and Muzaffar Ahmad Wagay were specially felicitated with an award and cash amount for authoring Arabic curriculum books for Nursery and KG standard.

The Chairman of Aarifeen school of Excellence also announced several employee welfare schemes besides annual increment in salary of staff according to their contracts. He also announced the project CODE i.e integration of coding in the curriculum.

He said that ASE shall focus on the STREAM based curriculum and with the cooperation of parents, our students will be ready for future challenges.

In the second session, the teaching and non-teaching staffers including transport and helping department were awarded certificates of excellence in the presence of guests and management board members.
