Baramulla, Sep 06: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting with the heads of various educational institutions in order to discuss various means and measures with regard to the opening of schools/colleges in the district.

The meeting was convened in view of government’s consideration of partially opening the educational institutions that have been closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion was held during which various necessary matters were taken into consideration. The concerned authorities also put forth their suggestions and feedbacks pertaining to the subject.

Meanwhile, DC directed to put in place a viable mechanism so that public health vis-a-vis education of the students is not compromised. He further added that a mass vaccination drive shall be launched wherein every eligible *college* student shall be vaccinated. Moreover, DC emphasized upon the concerned authorities to ensure that appropriate COVID behaviour is followed in letter and spirit besides terming it vital for averting exigencies.

Among others Principal of various Colleges, Chief Medical officer, Chief Education officer and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
