Handwara, 09 June: The villagers of Nutnussa Rashiwari Handwara along with Aquaf Committe members Rashwari today staged a protest against non availability of water pumping system in their village and raised slogans against irrigation department Handwara.

The villagers alleged that in the absence of pump system about 7000 Kannals of irrigation land and standing crop of the farmers will turn into barren lands and crops will be destroyed due to lack of water for irrigation in Nutnussa especially in Rashiwari village.

The villagers told Greater Now that lack of water due to non availability of pumping system in canals have badly affected their agriculture process.

They farmers appealed Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for early redressal so that they will get a sigh of relief.
