Kupwara, June 9:- Senior BJP leader Mohammad Anwar Khan visited several villages along LoC of North Kashmir’s Keran area of Kupwara district and met several deligations and representatives of the area.

 

“There was a curiosity as to how people can live without electricity, possibly a fundamental right of every citizen of the country,” BJP leader said.

 

“Connecting habitats in Keran in far north Kashmir to the national power grid, ending an over seven-decade-long wait for people living in these areas along the Line of Control”.Said Khan

 

In a statement issued to Greater Now, During interaction with local people living in far-flung areas, especially those in villages located near the LoC Line of Control thanked Prime Minister of India Sheri Narinder Modi for addressing their long pending demand of electricity in the area and connecting the area with national power grid, told BJP leader.

 

 

Villagers in these areas have also enthusiastically participated in elections with the turnout always being over 60%, told Mr.Khan, who took over as BJP’s party affairs Incharge of north kashmir in February 2020,

 

“There was a curiosity as to how people can live without electricity, possibly a fundamental right of every citizen of the country,” Khan said.

 

“ When these area’s were connected with Natinal power grid the happiness of the villagers was evident. Definitely Modi government and administration deserves praise for having achieved this.” said Khan.

 

The areas remain cutoff for nearly six months due to heavy snow, which can reach heights of nine-12 feet.

Lack of direct connectivity with the national electricity grid threw the area into extreme backwardness because of lack of industries, limited medical facilities and television access.

 

“Essential commodities, especially food items and essential drugs are stored in advance for an year in the area to cater to the winter requirements,” Mr.Khan said.

 

Amongst 112 districts Kupwara also was selected as Aspirational district of the country for quick and effective transformation, which directly benefited these villages along LoC of Keran area.

 

Connecting the far flung villages along LoC of Keran, with national power grid triggered revolutionary changes in the lives of the common masses starting from switching on a television as and when they please to better healthcare, water supply, lift irrigation systems and impacting almost every walk of life now dependent on power supply“.

 

“The aspirations of the empowered people living on the Zero line, at last seem to be part of the Inclusive growth Story of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’,” BJP leader Mr.Khan said.
