Sopore, April 05: Sopore police continuing its war against the menace of drugs arrested three chronic drug peddlers at Budden Crossing recovered contraband drugs and cash from their possession.

In a statement issued to “Greater Now News” Police said that acting on a reliable information, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha led by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Imtiyaz Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Nissar Ahmad-JKPS, established a naka at Budden Crossing intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK05A 5335, during checking 10 strips of Spasmoproxyvon Plus, 13 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and cash rupees 23000 was recovered.

The accuseds were identified as: 1. Parvaiz Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Hassan Lone 2. Waseem Abdullah Lone S/O Muhammad Abdullah Lone R/O Budden Rafiabad and 3. Muhammad Rafiq Sheikh S/O Abdul Jabar Sheikh R/O Watergam Rafiabad.

It is pertinent here that the said accuseds were chronic drug peddlers of the area and were evading their arrests and efforts were on to nab him.

During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accuseds drug peddlers were selling the drugs to people especially youths of the area at exorbitant rates & make them drug addicts. Accordingly case FIR No. 60/2021 U/S 8/22, 29 NDPS Act registered in police station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been taken up.

General public of the area have appreciated this swift action of Sopore Police and have felt a sigh of relief.

Sopore People is always requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help Sopore Police in eradicating the menace of drugs in the Police District Sopore.
