Baramulla, June 02: In yet another initiative for carrying out constructive activities for the AWAM and providing wings to the aspirations of young cricketers hopeful of donning the Indian blues, Kashmir Premier League Baramulla District started today under the aegis of 46 Rashtriya rifles (SIKH).
This initiative is aimed to nurture the potential of hidden talents in cricket and provide a platform for the youth of India to showcase their talent and elevate India’s reputation in the field globally.
The T20 cricket championship is being organized from 1 June 2022 and till last till 8 August, the zeal and enthusiasm of the youths are overwhelming and the same is visible with the number of participating teams.
The event was inaugurated at Jhelum Stadium by Col Prateek Sharma Commanding Officer 46 RR Bn (SIKH) and Sheikh Mushtaq, Ex-Sports manager, Baramulla.
Mr. Mushtaq even encouraged the participants to make use of this golden opportunity and to derive maximum benefits out of the Sports events organized by the Indian Army.
At Jhelum stadium, the first match was played between BLA Gymkhana and Escort Eagle in which BLA Gymkhana won the match by six runs.
The second match was played between Baramulla Victorians and Kanpur Phaktoons in which Baramulla Victorians won the match by 10 wickets.
At the Shoukat Ali stadium, the match was played between KCC Delina and Shahi Hamdan Kanispora in which Shahi Hamdan won the match by 8 runs.
Another match was played between Victoria Baramulla and FMCC Baramulla in which Victoria Baramulla won the match by 10 wickets
The youth appreciated the opportunity provided to them and thanked Army for organizing the event.
“These efforts by the Indian Army will surely facilitate the new-age Kashmiri youths, energetic, upwardly mobile, forward-looking, and ready to pursue a life of dignity and achievement,” they said.
