Sopore, May 26: As part of Public outreach programme, Sopore Police organised Thana Diwas at all Police Stations of the police district Sopore.

SSP Sopore along with Dy.SP Hqrs Sopore, SHO P/S Sopore held Thana Diwas at Police Station Sopore. The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of nearby villages including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars and Traders Federation.

On the occasion, the participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured by the officer that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses. He further added that community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.

The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining Law & Order in the area and identifying anti national and anti social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils.

Moreover Thana Divas was also observed in following Police Stations Police Station Tarzoo, Police Station Dangiwacha, Police Station Bomai and Police Station Panzla.
