Srinagar, Apr 25: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Baramulla have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party led by SHO Police Station Pattan Insp. Nissar Ahmad alongwith In-charge PP Palhalan SI Ather Parvaiz under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Shri Mohammad Nawaz Khanday-JKPS during daily routine checking at Rengi Pattan intercepted one person identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar @ Javeed Dar son of Gh Rasool Dar resident of Rengi Pattan. During search, 170 grms of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
