Sopore, Apr 08: On the directions of SP Sopore, SDPO Rafiabad initiated a robust drive to contain and effectively eradicate the incessant traffic violations that has been witnessed over the last few months and which has resulted in a spate of accidents and casualties in the previous month.

The focus was particularly on overloading, stunt biking, rash and negligent driving.

During the process a number of violaters were booked under different acts of the Motor Vehicle Act and a case FIR No. 34/2022 at Police Station Dangiwacha was also registered in which two violators were also arrested.

The purpose of the drive is to check and eradicate traffic violation and provide a safe road for law abiding citizens. It was also envisaged to act as a deterrent for future violators.

SDPO Rafiabad would appreciate and encourage the active participation of the public to make our roads safer. We would welcome any suggestion and take corrective measures.

Students are requested not to travel in overloaded transport which can cause casualties and deaths.

General Public have appreciated the efforts of Sopore Police in keeping a close check on the violators and is ensuring a safe movement of public on roads and a healthy stay at public places.
