Sopore, Nov 26 : Police in a statement issued to Greater Now News said that, “Acting upon a specific information, a joint naka was laid by Sopore police and Forest Department headed by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Imtiyaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Muhammad Ameen Bhat-JKPS at Pazalpora Malganipora Rafiabad, during naka checking one Tata Mobile load carrier bearing registration number JK05D 5041 was intercepted in which about 25 square feet illegal timber was loaded.
Accordingly a case FIR No. 190/2021 U/S 379 IPC, 26 F Act was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha, illegal timber alongwith vehicle were seized and accused also arrested and further investigation of the case has been taken up.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Sopore Police registered two cases in second consecutive day against illegal timber smuggling in sub division Rafiabad.
