Sopore, Nov 26: Acting upon a reliable information, on 25 November, a joint operation was carried out by Sopore police and Forest Department headed by SHO Police Station
Sopore, Nov 26: Acting upon a reliable information, on 25 November, a joint operation was carried out by Sopore police and Forest Department headed by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Imtiyaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Muhammad Ameen Bhat-JKPS raided at village Fidarpora Rafiabad and seized illegal timber about 69.94 square feet from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Mir S/O Abdul Razak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam Muhammad Rajab Hajam both the residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad.
In this regard Case FIR No. 189/2021 U/S 379 IPC, 26 IF ACT has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation into matter has been taken up.
Acting tough against timber smugglers, Sopore Police assures that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold from the plunder.
