Baramulla, Oct 14: Army organised a Youth Empowerment Drive in collaboration with Local NGO partners with an aim to understand the requirements of the youth including women and to empower them with several skill based programs.
Indian Army believes that its the youth which can play a pivotal role in the overall development of the region if their potential can be nurtured by providing adequate platforms.
The power to steer the course towards self dependency and sustainable development lies on the shoulders on the young generation and Indian Army realizing this, organised empowering sessions through skill development partners and through senior representatives of big corporate houses.
140 local youth including 65 females attended the drive and welcomed the session with Zeal and vigour.
A targeted interaction was conducted between the corporate partners and women beneficiaries to explore several business and entrepreneurial possibilities. The exchange of information and knowledge resulted into a dream of creating a self sustained women led handicraft Microhub which would engage into profitable and sustainable business. This would pave the way to engage the youth in constructive manner and generating micro – entrepreneurs motivating larger.
