Baramulla, Oct 06: Living up to the motto and traditions of ‘Seva Paramo Dharma’, the Sultanpur Kandi Army Camp of Uplona Rashtriya Rifles organised a photography competition under the aegis of Headquarter 10-Sector Rashtriya Rifles.

The event was aimed to introduce professional photography to children, develop the propensity for it and educate them about career prospects in the field of photography.

The children were guided by a professional photographer who taught tips and tricks of photography as well as the use of DSLR’s and mobile phone cameras.

The competition was held for two age groups of 12-16 years and 17-23 years in which Jahangir Shah r/o Sultanpur Kandi, Iqra Jaan r/o Morantangwari and Sahil Lone r/o Naugam Kandi were judged as the best photographers.  The winners were felicitated at the end of the event.

At least 40 students took part in the event and appreciated the efforts of the army to introduce this relatively new field of professional photography to them in these far-flung villages.
