Handwara, Oct 02: Today on the 152nd birth aniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi (Gandhi Jayanti) Handwara Police held Swachhta Pledge Ceremony in all its jurisdictional Police Stations, Police Posts and Police components to remember the thoughts of Gandhiji for a  neat and clean nation.

The main function was held at DPL Handwara where officers and officials of DPL took the Swachhta Pledge and  as a symbol of Swachha Bharat Abiyaan a cleanliness drive was also initiated. The participants were stressed  to keep the surroundings clean.

On the event Lines Officer DPL Handwara said that, “A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 152nd birth anniversary in 2021″.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around the surrounding environment where we live starting from our homes.

The police personnel in all establishments cleaned link roads, drains passing nearby as a message to general public about the duties towards neat and clean nation.
