Srinagar, Oct 17 In a significant disruption to the vital lifeline that connects the picturesque valley of Kashmir to the rest of the country, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been blocked due to a landslide at Cafeteria, Ramban. The incident occurred on [16/10/2023 yesterday], and authorities are advising commuters to take alternative routes after confirmation from Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, often referred to as NH-44, is the sole road connection that links the Kashmir valley with the rest of country . This crucial artery not only facilitates the movement of people and goods but also plays a vital role in maintaining the economic and social ties between the valley and the rest of the nation.
